Bernadine's Pregnancy Journal

Bernadine Sevy

7 weeks

We found out a couple of weeks ago that we are expecting our 9th baby. Our children are so excited and Miriam is asking all sorts of questions. When she asked about getting to see a picture of the baby, a sonogram, I said to myself, "This is going to be one long, long pregnancy!"

I realized that I could be pregnant before I was even late. Nausea, tiredness, teeny weeny bladder and irritability. I did a pregnancy test and it was positive, on the 29th day I had a blood test done at the hospital to confirm. So it is time to break out my morning sickness concoction again. Hopefully it will work this time again.

Today I had a slightly humbling experience. I was buying some clothing items and the check out clerk asked me how much time I had left. I said," Oh, I’m not due till October but this is my ninth." I hope that that is an allowable excuse for my pre-stretched-ready-to-look-6-months- already waistline. Somebody help me feel better!!!! I am excited, though, I hope it is a girl but I love the boys.

I found a cool web site: http://www.babycenter.com/pregnancy-calendar/

I also dug out my ever faithful copy of "What to expect when you are expecting".

I always amazes me that I can have as many questions as I do after having done this so many times. Maybe children really do deplete your brain cells.

The only other thing that I was a little alarmed at the other day was cramping. They felt like second child after birth pains or really bad period cramps. Dr. Nelson said that the only indication that you could have that they are anything other than the uterus stretching is bleeding. I never bled, it would be terrible to lose this baby.
