Bernadine's Pregnancy Journal

Bernadine Sevy

I am 22 weeks pregnant now. Morning sickness is mostly gone, thank goodness, and now I'm waiting for that burst of energy I usually experience during my middle trimester. It has occurred to me not to hold my breathe too long.

At 18 weeks, our baby would not co-operate with the sonogram technician but at 21 weeks it did. Everything looks healthy, no cleft palette, spina bifida, we have 4 heart chambers and so on. We were relieved.

We were also very surprised to see that it is a boy! I was sure that we were going to have a girl, to keep up the pattern. But we are thrilled. Our sons have been rubbing the girls faces in it for a week, "five boys and three girls, you're outnumbered", until I reminded them that all that it meant was that while so many sons worked, we'd have a chance to do our finger-nails. We haven't heard another word.
